Serving features are for illustration purposes only - Part 2

Walked into a certain fast food outlet specialising in fried chicken to order lunch. The counter staff asked me if I'd try their latest promotion named Chicken Poopers (the typo is deliberate, you will soon know why...).

I looked at the promotional menu and found that Chicken Poopers are basically chicken balls the size of golf balls, or so I thought.

I said no thanks and proceeded to order my lunch. However just before I pay up, I thought "Hey, if they are the size of golf balls, they cannot be that bad right?" and ordered a serving.

When I got home, I took out the box which contains the chicken poopers. The box rattled. I open up the box only to find 5 miserable chicken balls the size of marbles, not golf balls. I think even my cat's testicles are bigger. This photo must have been taken with a macro lens during the photo shoot for the advertisement.

And true enough, the dreaded statement "Serving features are for illustration purposes only" are again in fine print in all their ads about this product.

Why oh why oh why will I never learn?

*gasp*

You should try their Mushroom Soup. Not only it's watery, it also tastes like poop. LOL!! (for language purpose only. Not that I've tasted poop before) :P

Don't judge a fast food by it's poster

Kay : Me thinks only Kay Eff See tend to oversize their products in their adverts. Pizza Hut and McD tend not to do that much i.e. what you see is almost what you will really get.

Wombat, I your food posts are my favorites. Ah, yes, when will you ever learn? First you went to a restaurant on opening day, and now you're lured into ordering chicken poopers because of a good photographer.

But who would have known?
The sad thing about me is that I actually like a lot of fast food. . . in spite of my standing as a self-styled "gourmet" chef.
I like Big Macs, Whoppers with 'cheese'[sic], and the chocolate shakes that go with them. I also like the fried chicken places. Might your chicken poppers have been decent except for being overcooked? That's the usual problem with chicken.

The thing I need to learn is never to buy frozen breaded seafood of any kind. It's always three quarters breading and you just end up with mouthfuls of dough, wondering where the shrimp went.

fleming: I am a fast food junkie myself, and McD's my fave: Filet O'Fish and the double cheese burger. Nothing else. Unfortunately McD will never ever open in Lahad Datu due to its small population so I tend to over indulge whenever I travel and walked into one.

Breaded seafood sticks? I never believe them, except for fish fingers. Fried fish fingers, two slice of cheese, two slice of toast, dab of tartare sauce, heaven.

McD in KL? It's everywhere man.
They deliver up to 3am now too..

kay: I know that. I heard some even open 24 hours now and serves breakfast menu from 4 am onwards. During our recent family vacation in KL, I must have whacked tens of Filet O'Fish from Jalan Bukit Bintang all the way up Genting and even at the LCCT at KLIA.

One thing I can say, McD's Filet O'Fish tastes the same wherever you are on Earth. I have tasted in in KK, KL, Singapore, Melbourne, Chiang Mai (Thailand), Zamboanga-Davao-Manila (Philippines), most major towns in state of Sarawak and even Guilin and Guangzhou (China). The flavour, texture and quality never change.

Well, that's how they are successful. They have a great system in place.

How on earth they come up with the name?

Poopers? Oh, God...

The actual name of the product is Poppers. I changed it for this post.

*rolling eyes* Misleading adverts are pretty much in abundance. I never (in one single iota) believe whatever craps they're dumping around
