I was compiling my favorite 1980s MTV video collection by trawling You Tube and out popped this 12" remix (extended version) of "Together In Electric Dreams" by Giorgio Moroder & Phil Oakey.
I have heard the normal album version of the same song a zillion times over the years but not this remix version. When the intro started, my jaws literally dropped to the floor and I bowed deeply in appreciation of Giorgio Moroder's talent in doing synth music.
Best served with your speakers volume turned up to "Are you nuts???" level, especially the intro and that instrumental interlude just before the end.

And a gazillion thank yous to Gallivantor of http://danielfranklingomez.com/blog/ for teaching me how to embed this video thingy into my blog!
Thanks for the news! I first heard this song in Feb 1985. Apparently the original was first released in Sept 1984, and that this mix was only released in 2003 i.e. 19 years later! Listening to it makes me feel nostalgic: why am I only hearing this extended version now, it's like 20 years too late!
Another song version I am looking for is the "Heavenly Mix" of Belinda Carlisle's 1987 hit "Heaven is a place on earth" - I think it's better than the original!
HAHAHAHAHAH OMG! Haven't heard this song for like.. many, many years!! All I can say is, this song reminds me of man in baggy pants, big, huge hair and.. women in funny clothes and hair also lah. HAHAHAHA!
Thanks for posting this.
"We'll always be together, together in electric dreams!"
